Veteran strategist Jonathan Asen to lead campaign; Ellie Edgell named Deputy Campaign Manager
NORTH HAVEN, ME — The Hannah Pingree for Governor campaign announced two senior staff hires as it builds momentum heading into the fall. Jonathan Asen has been named Campaign Manager and Ellie Edgell will serve as Deputy Campaign Manager.

Jonathan Asen is a seasoned political and public policy strategist. A Maine native, he has worked in the Obama White House, served as Chief of Staff to the Maine Speaker of the House, led the Maine Democratic Party’s coordinated campaign, and most recently served as Senior Advisor to the Harris for President campaign in Maine.
Ellie Edgell brings a strong background in fundraising, grassroots engagement, and campaign leadership. Most recently, she served in key roles on high-profile campaigns in Michigan, where she helped drive voter turnout and build strong community support.

With more than $545,000 raised in just the first 20 days, outpacing the rest of the primary field, her campaign is already drawing early attention as one of the most experienced and forward-looking in the 2026 race.
