MAINE — The Hannah Pingree for Governor campaign announced today that it has raised more than $4.2 million dollars since entering the race, including over $2,000,000 since winning the primary. It will report raising over $1,250,000 in next week’s filing. The campaign again has set a new record for the most funds any Democrat has raised in a Maine gubernatorial race during this reporting period and has $1.15 million cash on hand. The announcement comes as Hannah launched her first television ad, “Tough”, and announced a new coalition of Republicans and Independents supporting her candidacy.
“Support coming in from every corner of Maine tells me people want a governor who’ll actually follow through, and I’m not going to stop earning that trust,” said Hannah Pingree. “I’ve been traveling this state since day one, and what I hear over and over is that people can’t afford housing, can’t afford health care, and they’re tired of waiting on Washington to fix it. This is what a real campaign looks like: built town by town, county by county, by people ready for someone who’ll actually get things done. There’s still work ahead before November, and I’m not slowing down.”
Since launching her campaign, Hannah has received support from all 16 counties and nearly 360 Maine towns, thousands of contributions reflecting the campaign’s statewide reach and growing support as Hannah continues to meet with workers, families, small business owners, and community leaders across Maine.
The fundraising announcement comes as Hannah has secured her status as the undeniable front-runner in the general election, fueled by strong grassroots support, a strong bipartisan coalition, record-breaking fundraising, high volunteer engagement, and a growing list of endorsements from elected officials, health care experts, fisherman, housing leaders and community advocates across Maine. Four public polls have shown Hannah with a commanding lead heading into November.
A full campaign finance report will be filed with the Maine Ethics Commission by September 22.
