Record-breaking fundraising and statewide endorsements reflect growing momentum in the lead up to June 9th primary
MAINE — The Hannah Pingree for Governor campaign announced today that it has raised more than $1.9 million since entering the race, including over $510,000 this fundraising period. The campaign again has set a new record for the most funds any Democrat has raised in a primary in a Maine gubernatorial race. The announcement comes as Hannah is on the ground in Washington County, connecting with voters at grassroots events across the region in Indian Township, Machias, and Eastport.
“Mainers want a governor who shows up, listens, and cares about their communities and their future,” said Hannah Pingree. “I’ve been traveling the state, meeting with people and hearing directly about the challenges Mainers are facing right now. As Washington grows more chaotic under the Trump administration, governors are on the front lines. This support is humbling and tells me voters want leadership that is prepared on day one to stand up for Maine and deliver real results.”
Contributions came from all 16 counties and nearly 300 Maine towns, reflecting the campaign’s statewide reach and growing support as Hannah continues to meet with workers, families, small business owners, and community leaders across Maine. Since her launch in June, Hannah has attended 300 campaign events.
Hannah, the first Democratic candidate in the race to go on air, recently launched her new television ad, “Time,” coinciding with the rollout of her comprehensive Maine’s Next Chapter plans focused on affordability — from housing and health care to lowering property taxes and energy costs — and growing wages and economic opportunity in every corner of Maine. As part of the launch, Hannah announced her Maine’s Next Chapter Tour, traveling to communities statewide for town halls, house parties, and listening sessions where Mainers can connect directly with her and share their vision for the state’s future. Her campaign continues to build momentum with endorsements from Speaker of the Maine House Ryan Fecteau, Mayor Jeff Harmon (Auburn), Mayor Eric Sanders (Belfast) Mayor Elyse Tipton (South Portland) more than 100 current and former state legislators, the Sierra Club, Vote Mama, and Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund.
A full campaign finance report will be filed with the Maine Ethics Commission by April 28th, in accordance with state law.
