AUGUSTA — Hannah Pingree, former Speaker of the House, submitted the maximum allowed 2500 petition signatures at the Secretary of State’s office, officially qualifying for the democratic primary ballot in the race for Governor of Maine.
Joined by volunteers, local leaders, and supporters from across the state, Hannah delivered hundreds of pages of petitions gathered in 140 communities across all sixteen counties, reflecting the depth and reach of her campaign organization.
“Submitting these signatures today is a reflection of the growing grassroots support and engagement we’ve had with Mainers in every county about what matters most to their families. Mainers want a governor who shows up, listens, and gets things done,” said Hannah.
Since launching her campaign in June 2025, Hannah has met directly with voters in cities and towns throughout every county in Maine, hosting house parties, community gatherings, and town hall listening sessions focused on expanding affordable housing, strengthening access to health care, and growing economic opportunity for working families. She has also made clear that governors are often the first line of defense against attacks from the Trump administration on Maine communities and democratic institutions.
Hannah’s campaign has earned endorsements from Speaker Ryan Fecteau, more than 100 current and former elected officials, Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund, housing and health care leaders, and community advocates across Maine. Those endorsements, along with record-breaking fundraising, active organizing and voter outreach, have fueled record volunteer engagement, well attended events, and growing support in every region of the state.
“From day one, Hannah has built a campaign rooted in organization, discipline, and genuine connection with voters,” said campaign spokesperson Mary-Erin Casale. “She is the only candidate in the Democratic primary with the infrastructure, experience, and command to run a serious, high quality campaign capable of winning in June and delivering for Maine families in November. This early momentum reflects the grassroots energy behind her candidacy and the confidence leaders across Maine have in her ability to stand up, fight back, and deliver.”
With ballot qualification secured, Hannah’s campaign will continue expanding its statewide field program and engaging voters in every corner of Maine in the months ahead of the June 9th primary.
