Hannah Pingree kicked off her campaign for Governor with an energetic, community-focused day across Maine — meeting with voters, sharing her bold vision for the state’s future, and building momentum around a message of leadership and real results.
From her launch video debut to enthusiastic crowds across the state, Hannah’s campaign is already drawing strong support and attention. She kicked off the race with a full day of events in Rockland, Lewiston, Biddeford, and Portland—joined along the way by four local mayors: Mayor Mayor Marty Grohman (Biddeford), Mayor Jeff Harmon (Auburn), Mayor Carl Sheline (Lewiston), and Mayor Penelope York (Rockland).
“I am running for Governor to bring Maine people together to do the hard things that none of us can do by ourselves. As a state, we face real challenges—but I also know we have real opportunities. I believe in Maine, and I believe in Mainers,” said Hannah.
At each stop, Hannah met with supporters, business owners, and community leaders to hear what matters most to Mainers and share her vision for a stronger, more unified state.
Her campaign launch video, which highlights her North Haven roots, legislative record, and a lifetime of public service, resonated with viewers across the state. In the video, Hannah reflects on the resilience it took to rebuild from devastating storms, how she learned the values of hard work and community from her parents, and how that upbringing prepared her to raise her kids and to lead. The day began in Rockland, where Hannah met with a large Knox County crowd and local housing leaders to spotlight a new senior housing development, highlighting the solutions Maine needs to meet the demand for affordable housing. The day ended with a rally at Bayside Bowl in Portland, where a standing-room-only crowd of supporters cheered Hannah on, signaling strong grassroots enthusiasm and support as the campaign gets underway.
Hannah, a former Speaker of the Maine House and most recently Director of Governor Mills’ Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, enters the race with deep experience, a track record of delivering results, and a focus on the real challenges facing Maine families—housing, health care, climate, workforce, and more.
