I’m voting Hannah Pingree for governor in the June 9 primary, and will happily vote for her again in the Nov. 3 election. I know Pingree from her tenure in the Maine Legislature, including her time as speaker of the House. In addition to her many accomplishments in the Legislature, Pingree has served as the director of the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation, run a small business and chaired her local school board. Pingree has been a leader in all those roles. She works through intelligence and quiet strength until a solution to a problem is found.
I was born in Maine, and during my 71 years I have known many of Maine’s public and private-sector leaders. But I have never known anyone as prepared and experienced as Pingree to become our next governor. I urge everyone to vote for Hannah Pingree on June 9 and on Nov. 3.
