Letter: Make Hannah Pingree the No. 1 choice for governor

This guest column, written by Pamela Thomas was originally published in the Bangor Daily News.

Let’s overwhelmingly choose Hannah Pingree as our No. 1 candidate for governor in Maine’s upcoming primary election on June 9.

Pingree brings people together to solve Maine’s challenges. She’s experienced, accomplished and gets things done. Elected to Maine’s House of Representatives in 2002, at age 26, she learned the ropes, and was elected overwhelmingly by acclimation as speaker of the House in 2008. Most recently, she led Gov. Mills’ Office of Policy Innovation and the Future — focusing on cross-agency collaboration and innovative solutions.

Now, as candidate for governor, Pingree has set her sights on tackling: climate, energy, affordability, economic opportunity, expanding affordable housing, increasing housing supply and healthcare. The only way she can possibly get that stuff done is with statewide support — and she has it! Check out the endorsements on her webpage.

Hannah Pingree is the candidate to win. Let’s make it unanimous.
