BRUNSWICK, MAINE – Hannah Pingree, the Democratic nominee for Governor of Maine, has earned the endorsement of U.S. Senator Angus King, who joined her for a campaign conversation at Bowdoin College in Brunswick with supporters of all ages.
“Hannah has the experience, the competence, and the toughness to do a great job for the people of Maine. That’s why I’m endorsing her for governor today,” said King.
Hannah and Senator King, who previously served as Governor of Maine, discussed the issues facing the state this November in a wide-ranging conversation in front of a standing-room only crowd. The event follows Pingree’s recent announcement of a bipartisan coalition of Republican and Independent Mainers backing her campaign.
The endorsement comes as Hannah has secured her status as the undeniable front-runner in the general election, fueled by strong grassroots support, a strong bipartisan coalition, record-breaking fundraising, high volunteer engagement, and a growing list of endorsements from elected officials, health care experts, fisherman, housing leaders and community advocates across Maine. Four public polls have shown Hannah with a commanding lead heading into November.
Hannah has also launched her first television ad of the general election, “Tough,” and is currently the only candidate for Governor on the air.
