Campaign Announces Endorsements from more than 100 Current and Former Elected Officials Across Maine
BIDDEFORD, ME — Today, Hannah Pingree announced that Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau, along with a long list of more than 100 current and former elected officials across the state, have endorsed her campaign for Governor of Maine. The wave of support reflects the growing momentum of Hannah’s campaign and signals broad confidence in her leadership across Maine.
During a press conference announcing Fecteau’s endorsement, Hannah also released the full slate of more than 100 leaders who are backing her campaign. Hannah and Speaker Fecteau highlighted the urgency of addressing Maine’s affordability and housing crises, strengthening communities, and ensuring the state remains a place where people can live, work, and build their futures.
“Strong leadership matters now more than ever,” said Hannah. “I’m grateful for the support of Speaker Fecteau and so many other elected officials who share our vision for Maine. Our democracy faces grave threats from the Trump Administration, and Governors are the first line of defense. They’ve also got to be ready to do the hard work of solving big problems – like ensuring that health care and housing are affordable and accessible. I’m honored that Speaker Fecteau and so many other elected officials are standing with me, lending their support as we work together to fight for Maine families, strengthen our communities, and defend our values at every level of government.”
Pingree, a former Speaker of the House and state leader, has built her career taking on tough fights and delivering results for Maine people, earning a reputation as a leader who tackles big challenges head-on. Her campaign continues that mission, bringing together elected leaders and communities across the state to fight for Maine families and make the state stronger for years to come.
“Hannah has a proven track record of getting things done for Mainers,” said House Speaker Ryan Fecteau (D-Biddeford). “From her leadership in the Legislature, to her work in the Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, Hannah always shows up to face complex challenges and finds ways to solve them. And on top of that, she’s a great person – dedicated, fair, and kind. I am proud to endorse Hannah to be Maine’s next Governor.”
The press conference was held at the former Biddeford Courthouse, a building now being transformed into much-needed housing thanks to recent legislation. Hannah was joined by a powerful coalition of current and former elected officials who have endorsed her campaign, standing alongside her and Speaker Fecteau demonstrating the broad support and momentum of her campaign.
“Hannah Pingree is the right choice for Maine right now,” said former Senate Majority Leader Eloise Vitelli. “I’ve seen her lead with courage, integrity and vision. I’ve seen her stand up for Maine families. And I’ve seen how she delivers results. She’s the only candidate in this race ready to lead Maine on day one and I couldn’t be more supportive of her candidacy.”
“I had the privilege of serving in the Legislature when Hannah was Speaker,” said former Speaker of the House Mark Eves. “I saw firsthand how she took on tough fights – from advancing marriage equality to standing up to powerful industries, all while leading with steady, strong resolve. Maine needs her as governor and I’m proud to endorse her.”
