BRUNSWICK, Maine — Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, is throwing his support behind Democratic nominee for governor Hannah Pingree.
“Vote for Hannah,” King said as he walked onto the stage at Bowdoin College on Sunday morning.
King and Pingree holding a discussion in front of about 200 people, including dozens of Bowdoin students.
King joked that Pingree was his second favorite candidate in the race as his son, Angus King III, also ran in the Democratic gubernatorial primary back in June.
King, a former two term governor, answered questions asked by Pingree about being governor, the work he is doing in Washington and policy issues like housing, energy and education.
Pingree faces Independent Rick Bennett and Republican Bobby Charles in November.
